Suggestions for Treating Colds & Flus

One way you can help yourself get over a cold or flu quicker is to eat much less and switch to a simple diet while you’re feeling sick.

Vegetable or grain soups are perfect if you have mostly chills. Warming foods such as parsnips, horseradish, fresh ginger, scallions and garlic are rich in bioflavonoids and will help to allievate symptoms.

If a fever predominates, fresh fruit and vegetable juices are a better alternative. Helpful foods include parsley, carrots, broccoli, turnips, green peppers, lemon juice, grapefruit and most other fruits.

If fevers and chills are equal any of the foods will help.
